It starts with your curiosity

The guiding makes
the difference

All our astronomy guides have completed an astronomy guiding course, and our team has extensive knowledge of the subject. Our guiding connects that knowledge with your questions and the sights you discover in the sky and through the telescope.

The activity includes guided viewing through robotically tracking telescopes, alongside an introduction to the night sky and its constellations. Through the eyepiece, we observe the objects available that evening and explain what you are seeing and what makes them special — from planets, when visible, to clusters, nebulae and galaxies suited to the viewing conditions.

From there, the evening develops with you. We follow your questions, explore what interests you and adjust our explanations and pace to your group.

A private evening, with your own people. The guiding and telescope setup are tailored to your group.

A few useful things to know

Is stargazing suitable for children?

Yes. Children really enjoy the activity, and we adapt our explanations and pace to the group and their questions.

Looking through a telescope can be more challenging for very young children. If your child can close one eye and look through binoculars, they should generally manage the telescope too. Tell us the children’s ages when arranging your session.

Where do we meet, and how long is the session?

A standard stargazing session lasts about two hours. This also applies when pick-up is arranged. We agree on a meeting point in the Mitzpe Ramon or Sde Boker area in advance. Our office will send you the arrival details.

What is included, and how do you cater for different group sizes?

Every session, including the basic option, includes guiding, telescopes and a chair for every participant in the price. The basic session is for up to ten people, with one guide and one telescope. For larger groups, we adapt the number of guides and telescopes to the group and activity.

Our telescopes have robotic tracking, allowing more observing time and less time spent following objects manually. Optional extras are selected separately in the planner.

What happens if the weather is unsuitable?

We will contact you as soon as we see a potential problem, and we always provide a weather update on the day of the activity.

If the activity is cancelled because of the weather, there is no charge.

What should we wear and bring?

Bring warm clothing in winter. Comfortable closed shoes are recommended. If you order a campfire, wear clothing suitable for sitting around it. Blankets can be ordered in advance as an extra.
