A private, guided two-hour jeep tour to the coloured wall in Nahal Ramon and the viewpoint on Mount Gvanim. The jeep takes us to the places of interest; the guiding connects the landscape before you with the story behind it.
How did the crater form? What gives the wall its colours? How do the details you see close up fit into the sweeping view from above? We stop, look and explore those questions through what is right in front of us.
Private tour: your party has the jeep and guide to itself.
We drive into Nahal Ramon and stop beside the coloured wall. Facing its different shades, we explain how Ramon Crater formed and what gives the rock its distinctive colours. Seeing the layers at close range helps make sense of the geology around us.
We continue to Mount Gvanim, the highest point within the crater that can be reached by 4×4. We get out for a view across the crater, connecting what we have seen close up with the surrounding ridges and channels.
Between stops, we talk about the scenery and the things we notice around us. The subjects may change from one tour to another, depending on what we encounter.
Beyond the grand landscape are acacia trees, other desert plants and wildlife. We pay attention to what we encounter and explore how life adapts to this environment.
